CBS is launching itself into the UK TV arena, rebranding Chellozone's Zone Reality, Romantica and Thriller channels.
Zone Thriller will be replaced by CBS Action, Zone Romantica with CBS Drama and Zone Reality with CBS Reality. Zone Horror will retain the Zone branding. It's a slightly odd decision, given that the Zone channels have quite strong brand recognition in the UK, but they're clearly banking on the strength of the CBS name.
It's the first time that a CBS-branded channel has launched outside the US; the channels will be bolstered by around 70,000 hours of CBS archive programming, including
Jag,
Dynasty and remastered
Star Trek. "There's latent awareness of the CBS brand, and that it stands for quality US entertainment," said CBS executive vice president Reed Manville, "but people associate it with things such as DVDs, motion pictures and news. Our job is to build that out."
Hope cbs launch more channels especially Hd cause i would like to watch star trek in Hd with out forking out for blu ray box sets ian Vallender Cheltenham
